The Retention
Retention is the final phase of orthodontic treatment. Once the desired alignment has been achieved, teeth naturally tend to return to their original position: retention is what preserves and protects your result over time.
Teeth, even after complete treatment, retain a memory of their original position. The choice of retention type depends on the clinical case, the patient's age, and their ability to manage a removable device. I will evaluate with you the most suitable solution.
Types of retention
Removable retainer
A transparent tray to wear at night, comfortable and easy to manage in daily life.
Fixed lingual wire
A thin metal wire bonded to the inside of the front teeth: permanent and discreet.
Personalized duration
The duration of retention varies depending on the case. In many cases, indefinite retention is recommended for the front teeth.
Regular checkups
Regular follow-up visits allow us to verify the stability of results and the integrity of retention devices.
