Treatable Cases
Crossbite
Crossbite (or anterior crossbite) is a condition in which the upper teeth close inside the lower teeth. It is often a sign of a more important skeletal problem known as Class III malocclusion.
This skeletal characteristic, often hereditary, requires early treatment. Young patients should be assessed without waiting for the milk teeth to be replaced. This problem often requires multi-phase treatment re-evaluated during growth.

Why early intervention matters
Hereditary component
Class III malocclusion is often familial. Identifying it early allows us to intercept the problem before it worsens.
Early treatment
There is no need to wait for the primary teeth to change. Acting during mixed dentition allows us to use bone growth to the patient's advantage.
Available appliances
Various appliances can be used: face masks, expanders, bite planes and functional appliances — chosen based on age and severity.
Multi-phase treatment
This problem often requires treatment in multiple phases re-evaluated during growth, until skeletal development is complete.
